Russell’s Reserve Officially Releases 2026 Single Rickhouse Camp Nelson D
Artfully Bourbon / October 6, 2026The $300 bourbon clocks in at 120.8 proof, with Russell’s Reserve highlighting an unusually rye-forward profile. We’ve already tasted it.

Now the release announcement adds an interesting question to the bottle we’ve already spent time with: how far can a familiar bourbon recipe move toward rye territory?
In the company’s October 6 announcement, Master Distiller Eddie Russell describes a selection process that increasingly favored spicy barrels, including some from the first floor.
“This is the first Single Rickhouse release where, tasted blind, you'd bet it was a rye,” Russell said.

The recipe remains Wild Turkey’s standard bourbon mash bill. Russell’s Reserve attributes the unusual profile to Camp Nelson D’s elevated, exposed location and airflow, as well as the barrels selected for the blend. The company says this edition draws from more floors than any previous Single Rickhouse release.
That is the useful question behind this series: what changes when the recipe stays consistent but the aging location changes? Camp Nelson D gives drinkers another specific warehouse to explore, rather than simply another limited-release label.
The AB take
At $300, an unusual profile warrants attention. Whether it earns that price is the bigger question.
