Kentucky offers several seven-year comparisons. Two worth touching on are Old Fitzgerald and Old Grand-Dad. Heaven Hill introduced Old Fitzgerald 7-Year Bottled-in-Bond in June 2025 at approximately $60 for 700 mL. That bourbon is a 100-proof wheated expression. From the makers of Jim Beam, Old Grand-Dad 114 Single Barrel 7 Year brings a high-rye recipe and 114 proof.
Starlight enters that conversation at $60 and 110.8 proof, with estate production as its point of distinction. It reports 80% estate-grown grain, with fermentation, distillation, aging and bottling all taking place on the Huber family estate. Neither Kentucky comparison carries that Estate Whiskey Certified designation. These bottles share an age statement, but Starlight gives drinkers a different production story to consider. Whether that translates into a bourbon you prefer is something the glass has to answer.
The AB take
This is a useful bottle to put into the seven-year conversation because it gives us more to compare than age. Grain origin, fermentation, distillation and proof all belong in that discussion, alongside price.
At $60, Starlight has earned a place on the watch list. A tasting can answer whether it earns a place on the shelf. For anyone considering an online order, confirm delivery to your address before making plans around the release.
