Found North Batch 11 is a masterclass in bold and complex Canadian whisky, composed of six corn components and two ryes, including a new wood cask of Peregrine First Flight, which continues the brand’s tradition of crafting high-quality, thoughtfully blended expressions.
This batch is a blend of whiskies aged 18 to 24 years, made from a combination of 100% corn and rye whiskies. The result is a rich, layered profile that delivers both depth and elegance.
What makes Found North Batch 11 stand out is its balance of high proof and refined texture. Despite being bottled just shy of 130 proof, it drinks surprisingly smooth, with the oak influence adding structure without overpowering the blend’s natural sweetness and spice. It’s a whisky for serious enthusiasts who appreciate bold flavor, long finishes, and craftsmanship rooted in blending precision.
Tasting Notes
Aroma:
First whiff there is a good amount of molasses, maple, dark fruit and a rye, grassy note. Very layered dark rich honey. After letting it sit for 30 minutes, there’s a strong brown sugar, molasses, candied fruit layered into a creamy rich buttery dessert note.
Taste:
Lots of depth on first sip. Pepper is on the front of the palatte, earthy clove, baking spices, and a good amount of oak. Candied nuts, with a touch of cocoa. Second sip it transforms to more of a dessert sweetness, and a touch of mint.
Finish:
Spicy finish. Lingers with sweetness, pepper and spice, has a good mouthfeel.
